How was the transition of agriculture in the privileged Val de Cristo - today known as the city and valley of Atlixco - when the modernization of its 48 agricultural companies (ranches and haciendas) that, together with their 7 textile factories, made this geographical contiguous area one of the development poles of the State of Puebla? By putting into context the analysis carried out by Carlos Maurer Gambu in the dissertation: “L'agriculture dans l'état de Puebla” to obtain the degree of agronomist in 1906 at the Beauvais agricultural school, department of Oise; as well as the essay: “Historical data of Atlixco”, manuscript by Francisco Lozano Cardoso from 1938, a social actor and incisive analyst of the changes brought about by the political struggles over the agrarian structure and the trajectory of the modernization of agriculture, we will have an overview privileged that - in addition to making these manuscripts known - will enrich the analysis around the transformations in the agricultural practices and possessions of the fertile valley that saw the birth of the Chilhuacán hacienda, a farm owned by the conqueror Diego de Ordaz.
